Join us on this week episode of Ballgowns and Booze as Teddy and Elouise make some delicious cocktails with Verwood’s Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir.

Australian Aperol Spritz

This is Elouise’s new favourite cocktail. This is a cocktail that allows you to really taste the wine as the Aperol is not too overpowering but you can still taste its bitterness at the end.  A Spritz is an Italian Cocktail that is served as a Apertitif, a drink that is drunk before a meal to stimulate the appetite.  That sounds like an excuse to me to drink more cocktails ! Don’t mind if it do! Darling can you make me a cocktail, my appetite needs stimulating !

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Start by putting your ice cubes in the glass
  2. Add the Aperol
  3. Add the blackcurrant juice
  4. Add the of Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir
  5. Add the lemon juice
  6. Add a dash of blackcurrant cream
  7. Mix well
  8. Serve!

Bellini

Traditionally this cocktail uses peach notes, and originated from Venice Italy, after the pink colours in a toga of a 15th Century painting by Giovanni Bellini.   This cocktail will pair well on a summers day, with good company and a plate of fresh peaches.

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Add ice to your glass to make it cold
  2. Swirl around for a bit
  3. Throw the ice
  4. Now add the peach juice
  5. Add the sugar syrup
  6. Add the Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir
  7. Serve!

Penrose Peach

This is a very fresh cocktail where the lemon is the most prominent flavour.  We find a nice crisp, fresh cocktail such as this , is a fabulous way to round out Christmas dinner, when you have been over stimulated with rich, full flavours.
